Event Porta Potty Rental in the Temecula Valley & Riverside County

Victory Portable Restrooms rents standard porta potties, ADA-accessible units and hand-wash stations for events across the Temecula Valley and western and central Riverside County. We deliver from our yard at 26245 Monroe Ave in Murrieta, service the units between days on longer events and pick up when you are done. This page covers what every event needs to know and points you to the page for your kind of event.

Local, not a broker. Many of the top search results for porta potty rental in the Temecula Valley are national brokers that take your order and hand it to another company. We are not a broker. We own our portable toilets and our trucks, we service them ourselves from our yard at 26245 Monroe Ave in Murrieta, and we answer our own phone.

Which page fits my event?

Each kind of event has its own problems: a wedding is about appearance, a tournament is about field layout, a weekly market is about a standing rental. Start with the page closest to yours.

Event type What the page covers
Fairs and carnivals School carnivals, church fiestas, travelling carnivals and harvest festivals. Grouping units around a midway and food court, and daily service on multi-day runs.
Community events and block parties City and HOA events, National Night Out, parades and movies in the park. Block party and street closure rules in Temecula, Murrieta and Menifee, and who signs the rental.
Festivals and concerts Large crowds, alcohol and multi-day music events at Lake Skinner, the Lake Elsinore lakefront and wine country. Intermission peaks, back-of-house units and overnight service.
Weddings Vineyard, ranch and backyard weddings where the venue's restrooms or septic system cannot carry the guest list. When a restroom trailer is the better choice.
Private parties Birthdays, graduations, quinceañeras and reunions at home. One or two units in a driveway or side yard to keep a crowd out of the house.
Sports tournaments Youth soccer, baseball and softball weekends. Units by field cluster, early-morning starts and park restrooms that cannot keep up.
Races and car shows 5Ks, fun runs, cycling events and car shows. Start-line rushes, units along a course and street placement.
Church and school events Festivals, fundraisers, graduations, sports days and VBS on a campus. Working with facilities staff, gate hours and non-profit budgets.
Farmers markets and swap meets Weekly markets and craft fairs. Standing rentals with weekly service versus delivery each market day, and the state 200-foot restroom rule for certified farmers' markets.
Corporate events Company picnics, grand openings, employee appreciation days and outdoor meetings where the building's restrooms are off limits or too far away.
Film shoots Location shoots for crew and background. Short notice, base camp placement and moves between locations.
Pumpkin patches Farm and parking-lot patches from late September to Halloween. Weekend family crowds, hayrides and corn mazes.
Christmas tree lots Seasonal lots from Thanksgiving to Christmas. About four weeks of staff and evening shoppers, with weekly service.

What units can I rent for an event?

We stock three kinds of unit and arrange a fourth through partners.

Unit What it is When to use it
Standard portable toilet Single-user unit. The bulk of any event order
ADA-accessible unit Larger unit a wheelchair user can enter and turn in, marked with the International Symbol of Accessibility At least one in every group of units at a public event; also useful for parents with small children
Hand-wash station Two-sided station with a 22-gallon fresh water tank, soap and paper towels. Any event with food, children or animals; one at each group of toilets
Restroom trailer Two-station trailer with flushing toilets and sinks, arranged through our partner with at least 7 days' notice Weddings, VIP areas and corporate events. Quote-only

A restroom trailer needs a level pad and truck access for towing, and may need power and water, depending on the model. If you are deciding between the two, read porta potty or restroom trailer.

How many porta potties does an event need?

It depends on how many people are on site at once and how long they stay. The planning chart most of the industry uses comes from the Portable Sanitation Association International (PSAI brochure). A short version:

People on site Up to 2 hours Up to 4 hours Up to 8 hours
500 4 5 9
1,000 6 8 12
3,000 9 16 30
5,000 15 25 50

The chart assumes half the crowd is men and half women, that there are no other restrooms and that nobody pumps the units during the event. PSAI says to plan more units for hot weather, heavy eating and drinking, and crowds with more women than men.

The chart starts at 500 people. For smaller gatherings, and for the full chart from one to eight hours, use the porta potty calculator.

One caution about city forms. Murrieta's special event application prints a "1/500 ratio" beside the portable toilet count (Murrieta application). Read that as the least the city will accept. One unit for 500 people over four hours is a fifth of what the PSAI chart recommends.

How much do I add if alcohol is served?

More than most people expect, and the published figures do not agree.

For 1,000 people over four hours that turns 8 units into 9 or 10 under PSAI and 12 under the San Bernardino County figure. If beer or wine is the point of the event, as it is at most wine country gatherings, plan toward the higher number. Riverside County has not published its own figure that we could find. Larger alcohol events are covered on the festivals and concerts page.

How many accessible units are required?

At least one in every group. The California Building Code says that where portable toilets are clustered at one location, 5% of them, and never fewer than one, must be accessible, and that those units must carry the International Symbol of Accessibility (CBC §11B-213.2).

Three things follow from that:

  1. The rule is per cluster. Split 12 units into three groups and you need three accessible units, one in each group.
  2. Some cities ask for more. The Murrieta and Lake Elsinore event applications ask for 10% accessible units, and Murrieta says a unit placed on its own must be accessible (Murrieta; Lake Elsinore).
  3. The route counts. The federal Access Board says an accessible route must serve accessible units (U.S. Access Board). Put them on pavement or firm, level ground at the front of the group. Murrieta's packet sets a 2% maximum cross-slope.

How far ahead do I need to apply for an event permit?

Earlier than you need to book the toilets. A porta potty does not need its own permit on private property. The permit belongs to the event, and the city asks where the units will go and who is supplying them.

Jurisdiction Apply at least Permit Source
City of Temecula 30 days ahead Temporary Use Permit City page
City of Murrieta 4 to 6 months (small events); 6 to 12 months (large) Special Event Permit Application
City of Menifee 60 days ahead (10 business days for events of 200 or fewer) Temporary Use Permit Application
City of Lake Elsinore 60 days ahead Special Event Application Application
City of Wildomar 60 days ahead Temporary Event Permit Application
Unincorporated Riverside County (Winchester, French Valley, wine country) 60 days for smaller and seasonal events; 90 for annual, commercial or larger events Temporary Event Permit County Code Ch. 17.256

Not every event needs one. A party at a home, an event wholly on a school campus and a church event on church grounds are often outside these permits, but the rules differ by place. If any unit will sit in a street, on a sidewalk or in a parkway, the city or County Transportation will want an encroachment permit first. Food vendors are permitted separately by Riverside County Environmental Health.

The porta potty permit guide has each city's rules and forms. For the application we can give you our company name and contact details, the unit counts by type and the delivery, service and pickup times.

How do delivery, service and pickup work?

One-day events

  1. Quote. You tell us the date, address, head count, hours and whether alcohol and food are served. We reply with a unit count and a full price.
  2. Placement. You tell us where the units go, or send the site plan. We need firm, level ground that our truck can reach. The unit needs to sit within about 30 feet of where our service truck can park.
  3. Delivery. We deliver the day before or the morning of your event. For same-day orders, every day is different. The earlier you call, the better the chance of same-day delivery.
  4. The event. Units sized from the chart should last a one-day event without pumping.
  5. Pickup. We pick up afterward or the next day, depending on the schedule. Wildomar's application requires sanitation units to be gone by the first business day after the event.

Multi-day events

Units are pumped, cleaned and restocked between days, in the hours when the event is closed. Murrieta's application requires daily service of portable toilets on multi-day events, and we recommend it everywhere. Two things make that work:

  • A clear truck path to every unit. Vendor booths, fencing and parked cars must not box the units in.
  • An agreed service window. We need a contact who can open gates, and a time when the grounds are empty. We are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week.

Recurring events

Weekly markets, league seasons and church programs can keep units on site with weekly pumping, cleaning and restocking, which is included on 28-day rentals. See markets for how to choose between a standing rental and delivery each time.

What does event porta potty rental cost?

Event rentals start at $189 per unit.

The price depends on the number and type of units, the number of days and the number of service visits. We charge a delivery and pickup fee, with no fuel or environmental surcharges. Restroom trailers are quoted separately. See pricing for how our rates are put together.

To quote, we need: the date or dates, the address, expected attendance at the busiest point, the hours, whether alcohol is served and whether there are restrooms on site the public can use.

Which cities do you deliver to?

Most of our event work is close to the yard:

We do not serve the Coachella Valley. The full list is on the service areas page.

Do you supply dumpsters and fencing for events?

Roll-off dumpsters come from our sister company, Victory Dumpsters. We arrange temporary fence panels through partners for beer gardens, perimeters and back-of-house areas. You can ask for all of it on one quote. Check your event application before ordering trash service, because some applications name the company the city uses.

Event rental FAQ

How far ahead should I book? Book a week or more ahead when you can. Spring and fall weekends fill first. We take short-notice orders whenever units are available.

Do I need a hand-wash station? If food is served, yes. Our units do not have hand sanitizer dispensers, so we recommend adding a hand-wash station. Riverside County Environmental Health says gloves and hand sanitizer do not replace hand washing in food booths (TFF Operator's Agreement). Guests expect the same after using a portable restroom.

Can units go on grass, dirt or gravel? Standard units can, if the ground is firm, level and reachable by truck. Accessible units need a firm path a wheelchair can use.

Can I count the restrooms already on site? Yes, if they will be unlocked, stocked and open to your guests for the whole event. Lake Elsinore's application requires portable restrooms unless you can show that existing ones are sufficient.

Should units be kept away from storm drains? Where the site allows, yes. California's stormwater practice sheet for construction sites advises placing portable toilets at least 50 feet from drainage, and it is a sensible rule for events too (CASQA WM-9, Stanislaus County copy).

What if a unit is tipped or runs out of paper during the event? Call (951) 517-3600. The line is answered 24 hours a day for emergencies.

Is there a damage or cleaning charge? If a unit is tipped over or damaged, call us and we will reset, clean or replace it. The renter is responsible for damage beyond normal wear, and a service fee may apply.

Do you offer attendants? On-site attendants are available for large events. Ask when you book.
