Porta Potty Rental in Riverside, CA

Victory Portable Restrooms delivers porta potties to Riverside from our yard at 26245 Monroe Ave in Murrieta, north on the I-215. We rent standard and construction portable toilets, ADA-accessible units and hand-wash stations for remodels, ADU builds, commercial job sites and permitted events. Construction units start at $189 per 28 days with weekly service included, plus a delivery and pickup fee.

How far is Riverside from your yard, and how fast can you deliver?

Riverside is one of the longer runs on our map. From Monroe Avenue we take the I-215 north through Menifee, Perris and past March Air Reserve Base, then follow the 215/60 into the city. Rough distances from the yard:

Part of Riverside Rough distance Notes
Orangecrest and Mission Grove 28 to 32 miles First part of the city we reach, off Van Buren Boulevard and Alessandro Boulevard
UC Riverside and the Eastside 35 to 38 miles Off the 215/60 at University Avenue or Martin Luther King Boulevard
Downtown and the Mission Inn area 36 to 40 miles Via the 60/91/215 interchange
Arlington and La Sierra 39 to 43 miles West along the 91

The 60/91/215 interchange can be slow at commute hours. We do not promise same-day delivery in Riverside. Ask when you call and we will tell you what the truck can do that day. Scheduled deliveries are the normal plan, and weekly service is included on every 28-day rental. We answer the phone 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week, and the same number is answered 24 hours a day for emergencies.

What does a porta potty cost in Riverside?

A construction porta potty starts at $189 per 28 days, with weekly pumping, cleaning and restocking included. There is a delivery and pickup fee. We do not add fuel or environmental surcharges.

ADA-accessible units and hand-wash stations are priced separately. Event rentals start at $189 per unit. See our pricing page.

Do I need a permit for a portable toilet in Riverside?

Riverside is an incorporated city with its own permit offices, so the county rules that apply in nearby Woodcrest or Highgrove do not apply inside the city limits. There are three situations.

1. On your own lot or job site. We have not found a city requirement for a separate permit for a portable toilet on private property during a remodel or a permitted construction project. If you are unsure, ask the city's Building & Safety Division.

2. At an event. The city's Special Events page covers any event on public property, including city facilities, streets, sidewalks, alleys and other public right-of-way. The Special Event Permit Application also covers temporary use of private property in a way that differs from its current land use. The 2026 application sets out the following.

Item What the application says
Earliest filing Six months before the event start date
Deadline 60 business days before the event start date
Permit fee $100 for non-profit organizations, $500 for businesses and other organizations
Late fee $300 on top of the permit fee if filed less than 60 business days out
Vendor list Due at least 15 working days before the event
Contact Arts & Cultural Affairs Division, (951) 826-5663, 3900 Main Street, 5th floor

The application does not print a toilet count. It asks whether you will provide portable restroom facilities, and if so it requires three things:

  • The rental company's name and contact details.
  • A copy of the rental company's City of Riverside Business Tax Certificate and liability insurance, attached to the application. We provide certificates of insurance, including additional-insured certificates, on request.
  • The portable toilet locations drawn on your site plan, along with stages, tents, vendor booths, alcohol gardens, cooking areas and trash and recycling dumpsters. Street closures need a 12-foot emergency access lane kept clear for their full length.

The organizer is also responsible for removing all waste from the event. Check the form for what the city expects before you book bins.

Closing a residential street for a neighborhood party uses a separate Neighborhood Block Party application, handled by the same Arts & Cultural Affairs team.

3. On the street or sidewalk. Riverside's Public Works Department controls the public right-of-way. Its encroachment permit guide is written for private improvements built in the right-of-way, and says applications go to the Public Works front counter at 3900 Main Street in person or by mail, not online. We did not find a city rule written for a temporary portable toilet at the curb. Keep the unit on your driveway or lot. If the street is the only option, call Public Works before you book.

Our porta potty permit guide compares lead times across the cities we serve.

How many units does a Riverside event need?

The city form leaves the number to you, so start from the industry chart, which assumes no pumping during the event (PSAI):

Crowd 4 hours 8 hours
500 5 9
1,000 8 12
5,000 25 50

Add 10 to 20 percent when alcohol is served. California's building code requires 5 percent of the units in each cluster, and never fewer than one, to be accessible (CBC 11B-213.2). For other sizes, use the porta potty calculator.

What events in Riverside use portable restrooms?

Downtown carries the city's largest crowds. The Mission Inn Festival of Lights ran from November 22, 2025 to January 6, 2026 (FOX 11), and the Riverside Lunar Festival filled downtown on January 24 and 25, 2026 (Raincross Gazette). Check each organizer's site for current dates. We are not the restroom supplier for either event. Smaller organizers work under the same city application: church festivals, charity runs, school fundraisers, car shows and cultural celebrations.

Three local points are worth knowing:

  • Citrus heritage sites. California Citrus State Historic Park is a state park, and the Citrus Heritage Run has been held there. An event inside the park is arranged with California State Parks, not with city hall.
  • UC Riverside. For events on campus, start with the university. Ask the campus office handling your event what it requires from outside vendors.
  • Tight downtown blocks. On a closed street, put the toilet cluster at an edge our service truck can reach without crossing the crowd.

See community events, festivals and concerts, races and car shows and church and school events. For weddings where you want flushing toilets and sinks, we arrange restroom trailers through partners.

Remodels, ADUs and job sites in Riverside

Older-home remodels. Riverside has large, intact historic neighborhoods, including Downtown, the Eastside and the Wood Streets (Raincross Gazette). Many older houses have one bathroom. When that bathroom is torn out, or the sewer line is being replaced, a portable toilet on the driveway keeps the household and the crew going. Driveways in these neighborhoods can be narrow, and street parking is already crowded, so send us a photo of the spot before delivery. See home remodels.

ADUs. A backyard unit takes months, with the crew working behind an occupied house. Properties in a historic district may need extra review before a building permit, which can stretch the schedule. Ask the city's Historic Preservation staff early. Rentals renew in 28-day cycles for as long as the build runs. See ADU construction.

Roofing and exterior work. Re-roofs on older homes are short jobs with a full crew on site. A single unit covers the crew, and a 20 yard dumpster from our sister company Victory Dumpsters handles the tear-off. See roofing contractors.

Commercial and public work. Cal/OSHA requires one toilet and one hand-wash station for every 20 workers or fraction of 20, and one single-user unit where there are fewer than five workers (§1526, §1527). The small-crew exceptions are in our Cal/OSHA guide. See commercial construction and public works.

We can quote a toilet, a roll-off dumpster and temporary fence panels for one address in one request. Fence panels are arranged through our partners. See job site services.

Riverside porta potty rental FAQ

Can you supply the paperwork for the city's event application? The application asks for the rental company's City of Riverside Business Tax Certificate and liability insurance. We provide certificates of insurance, including additional-insured certificates, on request. We can give you unit counts and delivery and pickup times for the site plan.

Where can the unit sit at an older house with a narrow driveway? On firm, level ground the service truck can reach, clear of the gutter and storm drains. Stormwater guidance recommends about 50 feet from drainage where the site allows (CASQA WM-9). Send a photo and we will confirm the spot.

My address says Riverside but I am told I am not in the city. Which rules apply? Several unincorporated communities use a Riverside mailing address. If you are in Woodcrest or Highgrove, Riverside County's rules apply, not the city's.

Which nearby areas do you serve? Moreno Valley, Jurupa Valley, Corona and Norco, among others. See all service areas.
