Porta Potty Rental in Lake Mathews, CA
Victory Portable Restrooms delivers porta potties to the rural estates and ranch properties around Lake Mathews, south of the reservoir off Cajalco Road. We rent construction and standard portable toilets, ADA-accessible units and hand-wash stations for custom home builds, grading and well or septic work, and gatherings on private land. Construction units start at $189 per 28 days with weekly service included, plus a delivery and pickup fee.
Can I hold an event at the lake itself?
No. The reservoir is not a recreation lake. The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California owns it, and to protect water quality it is not open for recreational use (Water Education Foundation). The land around it is a protected reserve, the Lake Mathews Estelle Mountain Reserve (Western Riverside County Regional Conservation Authority).
So every portable toilet we place in Lake Mathews goes on private property: a home site, a ranch or a job.
What is the community like?
Lake Mathews is an unincorporated census-designated place at the north end of the Temescal Mountains, with Woodcrest to the north and Mead Valley to the east. The 2020 census counted 5,972 people and 1,955 housing units on 15.9 square miles (U.S. Census QuickFacts; U.S. Census Bureau profile). About 62 percent of residents are classed as rural by the census and 85 percent of occupied homes are owner-occupied.
Properties here tend to be large, often with long private driveways. Some are on unpaved roads or rely on wells and septic systems. There is no city hall. Riverside County is the permit authority.
Who needs a portable toilet out here?
Custom home builders and owner-builders. A raw parcel has no water or sewer on day one, and the nearest public restroom may be miles away. The unit goes in before the first trade arrives and stays through final. County notices have also described a Gavilan Hills specific plan south of Cajalco Road with several hundred estate and very-low-density lots (CEQAnet). We have not confirmed its current status. See custom home builds.
Grading, well, septic and solar crews. Short jobs on big parcels with nowhere to go. See grading and paving and solar installers.
Families hosting on acreage. A septic system is sized for the household. A reunion, memorial or wedding can overload it in an afternoon. See private parties and weddings. We arrange restroom trailers through partners.
Ranch and grove operators. If you employ hand-labor crews in agriculture, a different rule applies from construction. Cal/OSHA's field sanitation standard requires toilets and hand-washing facilities for each 20 employees, within a quarter-mile walk or five minutes, whichever is shorter (8 CCR §3457).
For construction crews the rule is one toilet and one hand-wash station per 20 workers or fraction of 20, with one single-user unit allowed for fewer than five workers (§1526, §1527). See the Cal/OSHA guide.
What do you need to know about my property before delivery?
Rural placements succeed or fail on access. Before we send a truck we ask:
- Is the road paved all the way? If not, how long is the dirt section and what shape is it in after rain?
- How wide is the gate, and is there a code? Our driver needs to get back in every week for service.
- How steep is the driveway? A loaded service truck is heavy. If the pad is at the top of a steep grade, the unit may need to sit lower down.
- Where can the truck turn around?
- Can you send a map pin? Rural addresses here do not always land in the right place on a phone map.
Units should sit on firm, level ground, clear of washes and drainage paths. Stormwater guidance recommends about 50 feet from drainage where the site allows (CASQA WM-9).
Do county permits apply to a gathering on my land?
Riverside County's Temporary Event rules are generous to large parcels (County Code Chapter 17.256).
| Your lot | No county event permit needed for |
|---|---|
| Any home | A wedding, birthday or similar event with up to 100 attendees, up to four per lot in 12 months |
| 1 gross acre or more | Fewer than 100 attendees |
| More than 10 gross acres | Fewer than 300 attendees |
Above those limits, apply to County Planning 60 days ahead for up to 300 people a day and 90 days ahead for larger, annual or commercial events. The county reviews a sewage disposal, water and food plan through Environmental Health but does not print a toilet count. See our calculator and permit guide.
A unit placed in a county road right-of-way would need an encroachment permit from County Transportation (Riverside County Transportation). On acreage that should never be necessary.
Getting there from Murrieta
There are two ways in from our yard at 26245 Monroe Ave, and we pick by address:
- East side, toward Mead Valley: I-215 north to Cajalco Road, then west. Roughly 30 to 34 miles.
- West side, toward Temescal Valley: I-15 north to Cajalco Road, then east past the dam. Roughly 32 to 36 miles.
Cajalco Road can back up at commute hours. We do not promise same-day delivery in Lake Mathews. Ask when you call. Every day is different. The earlier you call, the better the chance of same-day delivery. Service runs on a set route, which is how we keep pricing competitive. You can request a specific service day. If your site needs a day that requires a special trip, the price may change. We answer 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day, and the same number is answered 24 hours a day for emergencies.
