Is Temescal Valley part of Corona?
No, although the mail says so. Temescal Valley is an unincorporated community of 26,232 people (2020 census) spread over about 19 square miles south of Corona (U.S. Census Bureau). Addresses here commonly use the 92883 ZIP code and a Corona mailing address.
It matters for two reasons:
- Permits come from Riverside County, not Corona City Hall. Residents raise local issues through the Temescal Valley Municipal Advisory Council, which advises the county supervisor (Riverside County District 2).
- Most homes sit inside a master-planned community with an HOA. Named communities here include Sycamore Creek, Horsethief Canyon Ranch, The Retreat and Trilogy at Glen Ivy (Redfin), plus Terramor (KB Home).
If your project is inside Corona city limits, see our Corona page.
What should I check with my HOA first?
HOA rules, not county rules, usually decide where a portable toilet can sit at a Temescal Valley home. Before you order, ask your association or management company:
- Whether a unit is allowed on the driveway, and for how long.
- Whether it must be screened or kept out of view from the street.
- Whether contractors and delivery trucks need a gate code, a pass or set hours. Some communities here are gated.
- Whether your remodel or pool needs architectural approval that lists site facilities.
- For a party at a clubhouse or park, what the HOA requires from outside vendors.
Give us the answers when you call and we will plan delivery and the weekly service visit around them. We provide certificates of insurance, including additional-insured certificates, on request.
Does the county require a permit?
For a unit on your own lot during a remodel or build, we have not found a county requirement for a separate permit. If you are unsure, ask the county's Building and Safety Department. Events are covered by the county's Temporary Event Permit, County Code Chapter 17.256.
| Situation | What the county says |
|---|---|
| Wedding, birthday or graduation party at a home, up to 100 attendees, no more than four events on the lot in 12 months | No temporary event permit (County Planning filing instructions) |
| More than 100 attendees on a lot of 10,000 square feet or less | Not allowed |
| Permitted event, smaller tiers | Apply at least 60 days ahead |
| Permitted event, larger tiers, annual or commercial | Apply at least 90 days ahead |
The second row is the one to notice. If your tract lot is 10,000 square feet or less, a large gathering belongs at a clubhouse, a park or a venue, not a backyard.
A unit placed on a county road needs an encroachment permit from County Transportation. If the street inside your community is private, ask the HOA. Our permit guide has more detail.
What do people here rent portable toilets for?
Backyard projects. Pools, patio covers, landscaping and room additions. A unit on the driveway keeps crews out of the house for the length of the job. See pool builders, landscape contractors and home remodels.
New-home construction. Terramor has been reported as planned for up to 1,443 homes (Connect CRE), and Trumark Homes lists a community called Solara (Trumark Homes). We have not confirmed how much building remains. Tract sites follow the Cal/OSHA count of one toilet and one hand-wash station per 20 workers (§1526, §1527). See home builders and the Cal/OSHA guide.
Hillside custom lots. Acreage parcels in the hills above the tracts have no utilities at the start. See custom home builds.
HOA and neighborhood events. Movie nights, holiday events, pool openings and fun runs draw more people than a clubhouse restroom can handle. The industry chart puts 500 people for four hours at 5 units (PSAI); our calculator covers smaller crowds. Public events need accessible units too. See community events.
Commercial venues. Tom's Farms on Temescal Canyon Road and Glen Ivy Hot Springs are the valley's best-known destinations. Both are established businesses with their own facilities. If you are a vendor or organizer at a venue, ask the venue what it expects you to supply. See markets.
How far is the drive from Murrieta?
Temescal Valley is the closest of our Corona-area stops. We take the I-15 north through Wildomar and Lake Elsinore and exit at Indian Truck Trail, Temescal Canyon Road or Weirick Road depending on the community. Rough distance from 26245 Monroe Ave is 24 to 30 miles. The northbound I-15 is slow on weekday mornings, so we schedule around it.
Same-day and next-day delivery are offered. Phones are answered 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day, and 24 hours for emergencies.
