Is French Valley a city? Who do I ask about permits?

French Valley is not a city. It is an unincorporated community with no city hall of its own, so Riverside County is the local government. The 2020 census counted 35,280 residents, up from 23,067 in 2010 (Census Bureau, 2020; 2010). That means three county offices matter for a porta potty:

A unit on your own driveway or lot for a remodel or build does not normally need a permit.

Which French Valley events are exempt from a county permit?

The county code lists events that need no Temporary Event Permit. Two apply often here (Ch. 17.256):

  • Events held entirely on public property or a public school site. A school carnival or a tournament on school fields falls here. The school district will have its own facility-use rules.
  • Weddings, birthdays and similar gatherings at a home with up to 100 attendees, no more than four times per lot in 12 months.

Larger events on private land need a permit. The county asks for applications at least 60 days ahead for events up to 300 people a day and 90 days ahead for larger or commercial ones. See our porta potty permit guide.

How do you get to French Valley from Murrieta?

From Monroe Ave we head east across Murrieta on Murrieta Hot Springs Road or Clinton Keith Road to Winchester Road (Highway 79), then north or south to your street. Most French Valley addresses are roughly 6 to 9 miles from the yard. Winchester Road carries heavy commuter traffic in the morning and late afternoon, so we schedule tract deliveries around those hours when we can. Same-day and next-day delivery are available, and we answer from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day, with the same number answered around the clock for emergencies.

Why does my French Valley address say Winchester or Murrieta?

French Valley has no ZIP code of its own. It uses 92563, a Murrieta ZIP, and 92596, the Winchester ZIP (Wikipedia). Many homes here have a Winchester mailing address even though the old town of Winchester is several miles north. It makes no difference to us or to the rules: either way you are in unincorporated Riverside County. If your home is closer to Lake Skinner or Domenigoni Parkway, our Winchester page may fit better.

What gets built in French Valley, and what do those sites need?

New-home tracts. French Valley has grown by adding subdivisions. Tract work brings many trades through one site, so the unit count changes from phase to phase. California's baseline is in 8 CCR §1526 and §1527: for every 20 workers on site, or part of 20, provide one toilet and one separate hand-wash station. Count everyone on the site on your busiest day, including subcontractors. Our Cal/OSHA guide explains the details. See porta potties for home builders.

Backyard projects in newer homes. Many homes here were sold with bare backyards, so pools, patios and landscaping come later and run for weeks. A unit on the driveway keeps crews out of the house. See pool builders and landscape contractors.

Remodels and ADUs. See home remodels and ADU construction.

The airport area. French Valley Airport is a county-owned general aviation airport on Highway 79 (Wikipedia). Business parks nearby bring commercial builds and tenant improvements. See general contractors.

For builds that also need a roll-off or fencing, dumpsters come from our sister company Victory Dumpsters, and we arrange fence panels through partners. See job site services.

Does my HOA allow a porta potty?

Many French Valley neighborhoods have a homeowners association. Before delivery, check your CC&Rs or call the management company and ask:

  1. Whether a portable toilet may sit on the driveway and for how long.
  2. Whether it must be out of view from the street or behind a side gate.
  3. Whether you need to file an architectural or construction notice first.

Tell us what the HOA says and we will place the unit to match. We still need truck access every week to pump it, so a spot behind a narrow gate usually will not work.

Portable toilets for schools, youth sports and neighborhood events

Much of French Valley is served by the Temecula Valley Unified School District, and there are schools inside the community. School carnivals, jog-a-thons and weekend league games put hundreds of families on fields that have only a few restrooms, and they are often locked on weekends. A standard unit, an ADA-accessible unit and a hand-wash station cover most small events. Use the porta potty calculator for bigger ones. See sports tournaments and community events.

Event rentals start at $189 per unit.

What does it cost?

Construction units start at $189 per 28 days with weekly service. There is a delivery and pickup fee. There are no fuel or environmental surcharges. See pricing.

French Valley porta potty rental FAQ

Can the unit sit on the street in front of my house? Only with a county encroachment permit, and the driveway is simpler. In a tract with private streets, the HOA decides.

Can I move the unit as my tract moves from phase to phase? Yes. We can move a unit when we are on site for your regular service. If you need it moved sooner and we have to make a special trip, a relocation fee applies, and the amount depends on the location.

How much notice do you need for a Saturday game day? We offer same-day and next-day delivery, but spring and fall weekends fill up. A week ahead is safer.

Where else do you deliver near French Valley? Murrieta, Temecula, Winchester and Menifee. See all service areas.
