Construction units start at $189 per 28 days with weekly service included, plus a delivery and pickup fee.

Which part of Winchester are you in?

"Winchester" covers a lot of ground. The original town sits where Winchester Road (Highway 79) meets Simpson Road, and the census counted only 3,068 people there in 2020. The 92596 ZIP code, which carries a Winchester mailing address, had 31,081 (Census Bureau, Winchester CDP; Census Bureau, ZCTA 92596). Most of those residents live in the subdivisions to the south that are counted as French Valley. If you live in one of those tracts, see our French Valley page, which covers HOAs and school events. This page is about the rest: the old town, the open land around it, Lake Skinner and the Domenigoni Parkway corridor.

All of it is unincorporated Riverside County. There is no Winchester city hall.

What does the drive from Murrieta look like?

We cross Murrieta to Winchester Road and run north on Highway 79. Rough distances from the yard:

  • Lake Skinner Recreation Area, 37701 Warren Road: about 16 miles, turning east off Highway 79 at Borel Road past the French Valley tracts.
  • Old town Winchester near Simpson Road: about 16 miles.
  • Domenigoni Parkway corridor: about 15 miles.

This is one of our longer local runs. We offer same-day and next-day delivery. Every day is different. The earlier you call, the better the chance of same-day delivery. Phones are answered 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week, and around the clock for emergencies.

Portable toilets for Lake Skinner and large outdoor events

Lake Skinner Recreation Area is a Riverside County park in Winchester (RivCoParks). It is the site of the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival, held there June 20 to 22 in 2025 (Patch). Check the festival's own site for current dates. Groups that book the park for reunions, picnics and runs often need restrooms closer than the permanent buildings. Ask the park office what it requires from outside vendors before you order.

For large open sites, three planning points apply:

  • Count by crowd and hours. The industry chart puts 1,000 people for 4 hours at 8 units with no service during the event, and more when alcohol is served (PSAI). Our calculator covers other sizes.
  • Accessible units. California requires 5 percent of units in each cluster, and at least one, to be accessible (CBC 11B-213.2).
  • Truck access. Units on grass or dirt still need a path a service truck can drive in any weather.

See festivals and concerts and fairs and carnivals. Event rentals start at $189 per unit.

Do I need a county permit for an event on my Winchester property?

Riverside County sets the rules through its Temporary Event Permit, and the answer depends heavily on lot size, which matters in Winchester because lots are large. Under County Code Chapter 17.256:

Situation Permit needed?
Fewer than 100 attendees on a lot of 1 gross acre or more No
Fewer than 300 attendees on a lot over 10 gross acres No
Wedding or birthday at a home, up to 100 attendees, up to four per lot in 12 months No
Event entirely on public property No county temporary event permit; the agency that runs the property sets its own terms
Larger than the above Yes

When a permit is needed, the county asks for the application at least 60 days ahead for events up to 300 people a day and 90 days ahead for larger, annual or commercial events. The code does not print a toilet count. It requires a sewage disposal, water and food plan approved by County Environmental Health. Commercial events are prohibited in some zones, so call County Planning if you are charging admission or renting out the property. More in our permit guide.

If a unit has to sit in a county road right-of-way, County Transportation requires an encroachment permit (Riverside County Transportation). On acreage there is rarely a reason to use the road.

Why do rural lots on septic rent porta potties?

Some older and larger Winchester properties are on private septic systems, not sewer. Check with your water district if you are not sure. A septic tank and leach field are sized for a household, not for 80 guests in one afternoon. One or two portable toilets take that load off the system for a party, a family reunion or a horse event. On acreage they also save a long walk from the arena, barn or back pasture. See private parties and weddings. For a wedding where you want flushing toilets and sinks, we arrange restroom trailers through our partners.

Farm and ranch crews

The county describes most of the Winchester plan area as agricultural and undeveloped land (Winchester Community Plan, CEQAnet). Agricultural employers follow a different Cal/OSHA rule from builders. For hand-labor crews, 8 CCR §3457 requires toilets and hand-washing facilities for each 20 employees, located within a quarter-mile walk or five minutes, whichever is shorter, with written service records kept for two years. We can move a unit when we are on site for your regular service. If you need it moved sooner and we have to make a special trip, a relocation fee applies, and the amount depends on the location.

New construction along Domenigoni Parkway

North of the old town, new subdivisions are planned along Domenigoni Parkway under county specific plans, including one for up to 925 homes (CEQAnet). Raw-land sites have no water or sewer at the start, so portable toilets and hand-wash stations go in on day one. On a construction site the count follows crew size: Cal/OSHA sets one toilet per 20 workers and one hand-wash station per 20 workers (§1526, §1527). Our Cal/OSHA guide has the small-crew exceptions.

Owner-builders on acreage need the same thing on a smaller scale. See custom home builds and construction porta potty rental. Dumpsters for the same site come from our sister company, Victory Dumpsters, and we arrange temporary fence panels through partners. See job site services.

Construction units start at $189 per 28 days with weekly service, plus a delivery and pickup fee, with no fuel or environmental surcharges. See pricing.

Winchester porta potty rental FAQ

Can you reach a unit down a dirt road or across a pasture? Usually, if a loaded service truck can drive it. Send a photo or a map pin and we will tell you before delivery. Soft ground after rain may mean moving the unit closer to the road.

Will the weekly service route really come out this far? Yes. Weekly service is included on every 28-day rental, including Winchester.

Can I get a unit for harvest or a few weeks of seasonal work? Yes. Job site rentals bill in 28-day periods.

What other areas nearby do you serve? French Valley, Menifee, Hemet and Homeland. See all service areas.
