Who needs a portable toilet in San Jacinto?
San Jacinto is one of the oldest cities in Riverside County, incorporated in 1888, and it is growing quickly. The population rose from 44,199 in 2010 to 53,898 in 2020 (U.S. Census Bureau). That mix of new tracts, older neighbourhoods and working farmland shapes who calls us.
Tract builders. National builders are active here. LGI Homes acquired Maravilla Estates, a 169-lot active adult community, according to a July 2026 notice (Construction Defect Journal). A phased tract needs units that move with the crews: near the pads during framing, then down the street as each phase closes. See porta potties for home builders.
Grading and public works crews. New subdivisions bring street, storm drain and utility work, and western San Jacinto is the planned eastern end of the Mid County Parkway (RCTC). Crews working along a road with no fixed base often need a unit they can reach at each day's work area. See grading and paving and public works.
Farms and dairies. Agriculture has a long history in San Jacinto, dairies included. Farm employers with hand-labor crews follow their own Cal/OSHA rule, covered below.
Homeowners and remodelers. Older homes near downtown get the same reroof, repipe and bathroom work as any older neighbourhood. A single unit on the driveway keeps the crew out of the house. For roofing, our sister company Victory Dumpsters supplies a 20 yard dumpster for the same address. See home remodels.
Event organizers and families. Covered in the next two sections.
Which San Jacinto events use portable toilets?
Most of the city's own events are on Main Street downtown, where there are few public restrooms for a crowd.
| Event | Where | When |
|---|---|---|
| Independence Day Parade and Street Festival | Main Street. In 2019 the parade ran from Camino Los Banos to Jordan Avenue, with the festival from Jordan Avenue to San Jacinto Avenue. | July 4 (City of San Jacinto) Check the city's page for the current route. |
| Kool August Nights concert series | "The Mansion," with food vendors and a beer and wine garden | First four Wednesdays in August (City special events page) |
| Candy Cane Lane on Main | Main Street | Thursday, December 3, 2026, 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. (same page) |
Away from downtown, Valley-Wide Regional Park at 901 W. Esplanade Avenue hosts craft shows, baseball opening days and other events through the year (Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District). The park belongs to the district, not the city, so ask the district what it needs from outside vendors. Soboba Casino Resort on Soboba Road hosts large events too. It is run by the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians, and events there are arranged with the resort, not through City Hall.
A beer and wine garden changes the math. The industry chart suggests adding 10 to 20 percent more units when alcohol is served (PSAI). Our unit count guide has the full chart. See festivals and concerts, community events and church and school events. Event rentals start at $189 per unit.
Which permit does my San Jacinto event need?
San Jacinto splits events into two permits depending on whose land you are using. Both are in Chapter 17.640 of the city's zoning code.
| Special event permit | Temporary use permit | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | Public or city-owned property, such as a park or street | Private property |
| Examples | Street festival, parade, event in a city park | Fairs, festivals, carnivals, concerts, swap meets, outdoor sales, seasonal lots |
| Apply by | At least 60 days before the event | At least 30 days before |
| Limits | Set by the permit | Fairs and similar events: 14 consecutive days or six two-day weekends in 12 months |
The code does not print a toilet ratio. It lets the city attach conditions, including "provision for sanitary and medical facilities, as appropriate," so the number of units is decided case by case. Come to the city with a count based on your crowd size and hours, and expect staff to adjust it. If food is served, Riverside County Environmental Health reviews that part separately.
California's building code also requires that 5 percent of the units in each cluster, and never fewer than one, be accessible (CBC §11B-213.2). We stock ADA-accessible units for this.
How to apply. The Planning Division says all applications are submitted through the San Jacinto Connect Online portal. We could not find the special event handout posted on the city site, so call Planning at (951) 487-7330 for the current checklist and fee. City Hall is at 595 S. San Jacinto Avenue.
Units in the street. Anything placed in the public right-of-way goes through the city's Engineering page, which links to encroachment permit applications on the same portal. Engineering's listed number is (951) 654-3592. Our permit guide explains when a permit is likely.
On a job site. The same chapter lists on-site construction yards for an approved project on the same parcel as exempt from a temporary use permit. A portable toilet inside your fenced site is part of that yard. An off-site contractor's yard is different and does need a permit.
Do farm crews follow different rules?
Yes. Builders follow the construction rule: one toilet and one hand-wash station for every 20 workers or fraction of 20 (8 CCR §1526, §1527). Agricultural employers with hand-labor crews follow 8 CCR §3457, which adds two things that matter in the field:
- Toilets and hand-washing must be within a quarter-mile walk or five minutes of the workers, whichever is shorter.
- The employer must keep written service and maintenance records for two years.
Weekly service is included on our 28-day rentals. We can move a unit when we are on site for your regular service. If you need it moved sooner and we have to make a special trip, a relocation fee applies, and the amount depends on the location. Both rules are explained in our Cal/OSHA portable toilet guide.
Backyard parties, quinceañeras and family events
A home bathroom is built for a household. Fifty or a hundred guests in one afternoon is hard on plumbing and harder on a septic system. One or two portable toilets and a hand-wash station in the side yard keep the line out of the house. For a wedding or a formal reception where you want flushing toilets and sinks, we arrange restroom trailers through partners, quoted per event. See private parties and weddings.
How do you get to San Jacinto from Murrieta?
We take Winchester Road (Highway 79) north out of Murrieta through French Valley and Winchester to the Hemet area, then continue north into San Jacinto. Depending on the address we use Highway 79 itself or cut north on Sanderson Avenue or Warren Road toward the Ramona Expressway. The drive is roughly 25 to 30 miles each way.
That makes San Jacinto one of the farthest points on our regular routes. We offer same-day and next-day delivery. Every day is different. The earlier you call, the better the chance of same-day delivery. We answer 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day, and the same number is answered 24 hours a day for emergencies.
What will it cost?
- Construction portable toilets start at $189 per 28 days, weekly service included.
- There is a delivery and pickup fee.
- No fuel or environmental surcharges.
- ADA-accessible units and hand-wash stations are priced separately.
See pricing for how each part is billed.
San Jacinto porta potty rental FAQ
Is my address in San Jacinto or in the county? Check before you apply for anything. Land east of the city toward Soboba and Valle Vista is unincorporated or tribal, and the city's permits do not apply there. The city's Planning counter can confirm from the address.
We are a nonprofit holding an event in a city park. Do we still need a permit? The code lists some events by qualifying organizations on publicly owned property as exempt from a temporary use permit, but the wording is specific. Ask Planning before assuming you are exempt.
Can you service units during a multi-day event? Yes. Extra pump and clean visits can be scheduled between event days. Extra visits are quoted when you call.
Can I get a porta potty, a dumpster and fencing in one order? Yes. Dumpsters come from Victory Dumpsters and fence panels are arranged through partners. See job site services.
Which nearby places do you cover? Hemet, Valle Vista, Nuevo and Beaumont. The full list is on our service areas page.
