Porta Potty Rental for Corporate and Grand-Opening Events

Victory Portable Restrooms rents portable toilets, ADA-accessible units and hand-wash stations for business events in the Temecula Valley and western Riverside County. That covers grand openings, company picnics, job fairs, employee appreciation days, outdoor trade shows and weekend sale events. We give you one written quote and work with your facilities or marketing contact on placement and paperwork.

When does a business event need portable restrooms?

A commercial building's restrooms were sized for its normal staff and customers. An event changes the numbers, or moves people to a part of the property the restrooms do not serve. The usual cases:

  • The building's restrooms are not open to the public. Warehouses, distribution centers, offices with badge access and manufacturing sites often cannot let visitors inside for security or safety reasons. A job fair or family day in the parking lot needs its own restrooms outside.
  • The building is not finished or not open yet. A grand opening or ribbon cutting sometimes takes place before the certificate of occupancy, or in a lot beside a store that is still being stocked.
  • The crowd is larger than the fixtures. A dealership with two customer restrooms cannot serve a busy tent sale.
  • The event is away from any building. A company picnic at a park shelter, a ranch or the far end of a campus.
  • The event is in a parking lot. Outdoor trade shows, vendor fairs and food-truck days put people a long walk from the nearest door.

If your building's restrooms are open, close by and enough for the headcount, you may only need a hand-wash station near the food.

How many units should we order?

Start with the peak number of people on site at one time and how long they stay, not the total through the door. The standard industry chart gives these counts for a crowd with no other restrooms available (PSAI):

People on site at once 2 hours 4 hours 6 hours 8 hours
500 4 5 7 9
1,000 6 8 9 12

Most company events are under 500. For those we work from your headcount, hours and any building restrooms that will be open. How the count shifts by event type:

Event What drives the count
Grand opening or ribbon cutting Short peak of one to three hours. Count the peak crowd, not the whole day.
Company picnic or employee appreciation day Everyone stays four to six hours and eats. Families attend, so an accessible unit doubles as a family unit.
Job fair Steady flow, short visits. Recruiters and staff are there all day and need a unit of their own.
Dealership or retail sale event Runs a weekend or longer. Lower crowd at any moment, but units need servicing if the event runs past a few days.
Outdoor trade show or vendor fair Vendors arrive early and stay late. Add hand-wash stations if food is sampled or sold.

If beer or wine is served, PSAI says to add 10 to 20%. The porta potty calculator covers the adjustments.

Do we need accessible units?

If the public or your employees are invited, plan on it. The California Building Code requires that where portable toilets are grouped, 5% of them and never fewer than one in each group be accessible. (CBC §11B-213.2) The federal standard uses the same 5% per cluster and requires an accessible route to the unit (U.S. Access Board).

In practice:

  • If you place one unit, make it an ADA-accessible unit.
  • Put the accessible unit on level pavement with a clear route from the event. Not behind a curb or on gravel.
  • Some cities ask for more. Murrieta and Lake Elsinore ask for 10% accessible units on their event applications (Murrieta application; Lake Elsinore application).

What paperwork can you provide?

Corporate events usually run through a facilities, risk or procurement process.

Certificates of insurance. Property managers, landlords and corporate risk departments commonly require a certificate of insurance from every vendor on site, often naming the property owner as additional insured. Send us your certificate requirements with the quote request. We provide certificates of insurance, including additional-insured certificates, on request.

Your own event insurance. If the event needs a city permit, the city will ask the organiser, not us, for insurance. Lake Elsinore's application, for example, asks for $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate general liability (Lake Elsinore Special Event Application).

Vendor setup. If your company must set us up as a vendor before paying, send the forms early.

Permit details. For a permit application we can give you our company name and contact details, the number and type of units, and the delivery and pickup times.

Does a grand opening or sale event need a permit?

It depends on the city and on what you add to the site. An event inside an open business generally does not need one. Tents, stages, amplified sound, food vendors, closing part of a parking lot or using the street are what bring a temporary use or special event permit into play. Check with the city's planning counter.

Where Permit Apply at least
City of Temecula Temporary Use Permit (city page) 30 days ahead
City of Murrieta Special Event Permit 4 to 6 months (small events); 6 to 12 months (large)
Menifee, Lake Elsinore, Wildomar Special event or temporary use permit 60 days ahead
Unincorporated Riverside County Temporary event permit; events at a legally established facility consistent with its land use approval are exempt (County Code Ch. 17.256) 60 or 90 days ahead

Check this before you announce a date. Our permit guide links to each city's form. If you lease your space, also ask the landlord. Shopping centers often have their own rules for the parking lot.

Where do the units go on a commercial site?

  1. On pavement, at the edge of the event. A row of parking stalls at the side of the lot works well. Keep units out of fire lanes and off accessible parking spaces and their access aisles.
  2. Out of the storefront view. For a grand opening, keep units away from the entrance, the ribbon and the photo backdrop.
  3. Near food, but not beside it. Put a hand-wash station between the units and the catering or food trucks.
  4. Reachable by our truck. We deliver and collect with a truck, and we service units on events that run several days. Tell us about gate hours and security check-in.
  5. Away from storm drains. Stormwater guidance is to keep portable toilets about 50 feet from drainage where the site allows (CASQA WM-9).

Should we upgrade to a restroom trailer?

For some events, yes. A restroom trailer has flushing toilets, sinks and lighting. It suits events for clients, executives or investors, such as a headquarters opening or a customer appreciation dinner. Our partner supplies a two-station trailer. We need at least 7 days' notice, and pricing is by quote only. Trailers need a level spot a tow vehicle can reach and usually power and water.

Standard units remain the practical choice for job fairs, picnics and sale weekends. Read porta potty vs restroom trailer or see restroom trailer rental.

What else can go on the same quote?

  • Temporary fence panels, arranged through our partners, to mark out an event area in a parking lot or close off a loading zone. See temporary fence rental.
  • A dumpster for event trash from our sister company, Victory Dumpsters. Some cities and shopping centers have rules about event trash service, so check your permit or lease first.

Corporate event FAQ

How much does it cost? Event pricing depends on the number and type of units and the length of the event. Event rentals start at $189 per unit. Delivery and pickup is a fee, with no fuel or environmental surcharges. See pricing.

Can you deliver before business hours or on a weekend? We work 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week. Same-day and next-day delivery is offered when units are available. Book a week or more ahead when you can. Spring and fall weekends fill first. We take short-notice orders whenever units are available.

Our sale runs for two weeks. Do the units get serviced? Yes. Longer events are pumped, cleaned and restocked on a schedule, and busy sites can add visits.

Is this the right page for a construction site or tenant improvement? No. See construction porta potty rental, where worker ratios under Cal/OSHA apply.

Where do you deliver? From our Murrieta yard to business parks, shopping centers and dealerships in Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee, Lake Elsinore, Perris, Moreno Valley, Riverside and Corona. The full list is under service areas, and other event types are on the event rental hub.
